High Blood Pressure and how to lower it !
Don't fall fall victim to this silent killer !
High Blood Pressure is the culminated effect of a number of lifestyle factors in many cases. If you are at all concerned that you high have H.B.P.(High Blood Pressure) then please consult with your physician immediately. B.P.is measured and a reading consisting of two numbers, the systolic and diastolic, is given such as 120/80
The systolic number shown here in this example is 114 and shows how hard the blood pushes when the heart is pumping. The diastolic number is 78 in this example and shows how hard the blood pushes between heartbeats when the heart is relaxedAdults should ideally have a reading of less than 120/80 and someone who has a reading of 140/90 is deemed to have High B.P. and must lower these figures. There are a number of combined ways to do this naturally and they involve a lifestyle change in the majority of cases. Again i must emphasize the importance of consulting with your doctor as there may well be other underlying factors to take into consideration Without treatment
High Blood Pressure
can damage the heart, brain, kidneys and eyes and even more worryingly cause strokes, coronary artery disease and kidney failure. But know this. The only thing more dangerous than high blood pressure is using blood pressure medications to lower it. Here’s why… It’s a well-known fact that hypertension medications cause serious side effects. Even the medical companies have to admit to that. But to defend themselves, they say: “No efficacy without side effects”. Some of the serious side effects include (but are not limited to) dizziness, headache, fatigue, depression, throbbing of the heart, lack of energy, lack of concentration, impotency, frigidity and more. Because hypertension medications neither cure hypertension nor protect you from sudden fatal cardiovascular events – such as heart attack, stroke, embolism, kidney failure and other conditions that are directly caused by high blood pressure. It often doesn’t even work to normalize the blood pressure itself. So what are the lifestyle changes that will bring about a lowering of the pressure? If you are overweight then you must lose weight and go on a diet. Caution if you do suffer from high blood pressure you should avoid early morning workouts. Pressure for all of us does tend to rise slightly after waking and for those suffering this condition the elevation may persist longer with early morning exercise If you smoke you should either give it up or dramatically reduce the amount that you smoke. You must limit the alcohol consumption to 2 units a day for a man and 1 if you are a female.

A diet of fresh fruit and vegetables and organic meat are good sources of potassium. Preferably eat organic over intensely farmed produce then the essential minerals Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium along with other essentials will be present in your food. Fruits such as Apples, bananas, cantaloupe melon, oranges, and orange juice with the bits are all essential sources. Vegetables and legumes; Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, lentils, chickpeas, pinto beans, spinach, stick beans and peas, zucchini. All of these have so many benefits for the body to assist it in performing efficiently. Dr. Jeremiah Stamler, a professor of preventive medicine emeritus at North Western Feinberg School of Medicine, noted in that in a study of 4,680 men and women, as reported in early July from an issue of Hypertension, showed a significant reduction of blood pressure resulting from an intake of linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid found in vegetables. "this latest study shows that raising linoleic acid intake by 9 grams a day reduces systolic blood pressure (the higher of the 120/80 reading) by about 1.4 points, and diastolic pressure by about 1 point. Even a reduction of this size will result in an approximate 4% less chance of serious illness from high blood pressure." Some sources of linoleic acid include canola, soybeans, walnuts, flax seed and hemp. In addition, greens and animals that eat greens are also often a good source. With a proven health benefit and not much trouble to consume, you should ensure you get some linoleic acid into your diet. More evidence of the need to have a fresh, healthy diet, for remember the body and the mind are interlinked. If you feed the body health food then you are also feeding the mind/body combined which will result in an overall improvement in general well being.
